Crowdfunding Fail (thanks Paypal)!

The Hackers Pwnagotchi Pager Case Crowdfunding failed. Here is the mass email that went out explaining the situation:

Hi everybody, Unfortunately, barring some miracle, it doesn’t look as if we’ll hit our goal for crowdfunding the creation of Hackers Pwnagotchi Pager Case resin kits. Ironically, the campaign was the victim of its own success; cross-referencing website registrations suggests that we would have made our goal if Paypal hadn’t temporarily frozen the associated account because of suspicions regarding increased activity. Paypal never processed the transactions that occurred during the freeze and we fell short as a result.

Refunds will begin on May 1st and I hope to have everyone made whole by the end of the first week. For those interested in the files, I might post them on cyberspacemanmike.com/shop at some time in an indefinite future. In the meantime be sure to check out the new fold-able cases I’ve designed that allow you to print “holograms”: https://youtu.be/52i5WLtnRE8 Files will be available, for free, on the site in the near future!

I apologize for not doing more to ensure the success of the campaign and I sincerely appreciate the trust and support you’ve shown me and the channel. I hope we’ll have more opportunities to bring good things to life in the future! Thank you. (^‿‿^)

Sincerely,

Michael Kelley

At this point all of the $29 pledges have been refunded. I’m going to give people who pledged at the $5 level the choice of either receiving the files or a refund, mostly because I’m worried that if I further stress-test my account Paypal will freeze it again, perhaps permanently…
